Our bank holiday break!

I'm back and with a new look, I've been wanting to update my website now for a while and I finally think I am happy enough to share it all with you and what a better way than to let you all know what we have been up to over the bank holiday weekend.

Rob had four days off over the weekend starting Friday then through to Monday so with our friends we decided to go up to Manchester. As you will know from me previous posts or if you follow Rob on Instagram he is a football fanatic and is obsessed with man united. We have been to Manchester a few times now but never took the kids to game as they are still a bit young, however there was a special match at united on Sunday and Rob wanted to take the boys with Matt and Elliott and as it was a friendly we all agreed it would be okay.

We left early Saturday morning as from Lowestoft to Manchester it takes a good 5 hours to get there, but with the boys and Florence needing a few stops it took 7 hour. When we arrived at Salford we decided to head to the football ground as it would be too busy to go into the store on a match day and our accommodation wasn't available until 3pm, we arrived roughly around 1pm unlike Jess and Matt who managed to get lost for a good half an hour... but still managed to send selfies.

we spent a couple of hours at the stadium having a drink/snack and shopping before we went to the house.

We arrived at the house around 5pm, we booked the property through Air BnB, (I will supply the link later) and we were amazed withe the property... it was the perfect accommodation for us having 5 children with us and 4 adults. It was in Salford and close to everything we decided to cook on Saturday night, the kids had a bath and went to bed early while us adults enjoyed a nice Indian, a few drinks and a film before bed as we were all tired from travelling.

On Sunday morning we all got up at our leisure and had a cooked breakfast before getting ready and heading out for the day. The boys left around 12:30 for the football ground and myself, Jess, George and Florence headed to the trafford center for some retail therapy (if you have never been, you need to!) The boys had an amazing time at the football man united won and my purse came back a little lighter.

We all arrived back at the house around 6pm and decided to get a chip shop takeaway for dinner which was lovely and get an early night as we had to leave by 9am to head to Birmingham to Cadburys world.

Monday morning and we all managed to leave the house on time (Hurray!) and we were on the way swiftly. We arrived at Cadburys world by 11:30am for the tour to start at 11:50am. On arrival we got given free chocolate and the kids got a little treasure hunt to complete, at the start you walk through the Aztec jungle to learn about the coco bean and where chocolate came from you then meet a tour guide who gives you information about Cadbruys world and then you go into two little screen rooms.

The first viewing room was about Mr Cadbury, his sons and there business it wasn't really interesting for our children as they are 3 and under however they sat and listened to it all, it lasted for about 10 minutes. in the next room you learnt how chocolate is made, this was more visual for the kids as the seats moved, smoke puffed out and the ceiling rolled like the machines did to crush the coco beans.

once you got the background of Cadburys word and how chocolate was made we made our way into the factory, we all enjoyed writing our name in chocolate and the boys even got to learn about tempering chocolate.

We made our way through the factory, Oscar and Elliott had there faces painted.

we then went onto the Cadabra ride which was great for the children and even Florence loved the sensory part. We then went downstairs to enjoy some melted chocolate with toppings and walk through bournville street to another sensory game room which i'm not sure if Rob and Matt enjoyed more or the children...

Once we finished in there we headed into the Cadburys shop and probably brought far too much chocolate... but who doesn't love chocolate right?

we had all worked up and appetite so decided to head to the restaurant for some pizza before letting the kids run off more steam at the Cadbruys park to then travel home, the food was lovely but the children were more interested in heading outside to the park.

We let them have an hour outside before heading home and we were all a little gutted the weekend had gone so quickly.

Overall I can thoroughly say Cadburys world is worth the visit no matter what the age, we were there for 5 hours and we still didn't manage to do everything so I look forward to taking the children back there one day.

I hope you all had a lovely bank holiday weekend just like we all did, Until next time.

Morgen x
